BurgerMonday with Moro
when:
25 June, 6:45 & 8:45
where:
Ozone Coffee Roasters
11 Leonard Street
EC2A 4AQ (see map)
chefs:
Sam & Sam Clark
burger:
Hindu Kush
cost:
£36 *
For one night only Sam and Sam Clark relocate from the open kitchen of Moro, a perennial on my very short list of London’s very best restaurants, to one in a coffee shop beneath the shadow of the Old Street roundabout. Not just any coffee shop, mind you, but Ozone Coffee Roasters – James Gurr and Lizzie Bain’s soaring new roastery, coffee shop, tasting room and restaurant.
Sam and Sam’s BurgerMonday menu is a journey that begins in Moorish Andalucia with a trio of tapas and sherry, then continues East with their mysterious Hindu Kush burger and an Alphonso mango lassi.
MENU
A Glass Tio Pepe Fino Sherry with tapas:
Prawn tortillitas
Broad beans with jamón
Salt cod & green pepper tortilla
Hindu Kush Burger with chips
Alphonso mango lassi
You may wish to ask Sam and Sam which meat or meats are in their Hindu Kush burger and – who knows? – they may wish to answer but, sorry, that would spoil the fun.
The meatup is divided into two sittings beginning at 6:45pm and 8:45pm. Feel free to come a little early, or stay a little late, for a drink, or an Ozone coffee.
