The Bird is breaking out,
beginning March 18th at Andrew’s

Alan Bird is done making names more famous than his look good. He has left The Ivy, where he was executive chef, and Caprice Holdings restaurant group, where he worked for some 20 years, to open a place with his name on the door.

Several doors, actually. His British restaurant Bird of Smithfield will launch May 1st, with a bar, lounge, private dining space and terrace set over five floors overlooking Smithfield Market.

He’s also putting his name on a burger, the Smokin’ Bird Burger, purpose built for this March 18th BurgerMonday pop-up at Andrew’s Gray’s Inn greasy spoon café.
