Are Banhmi11‘s Anh Vu and Van Tran hesitant decision makers? Are they unwilling to compromise? Hardly.
The refusal of these London street food stars to choose amongst fried chicken wings, fried nems (spring rolls) and fried seabass fillets as the main act for the inaugural FryFriday pop-up is more about overcoming the image of fried food as bad food. By marinating before frying and serving nuoc-mam-based dipping sauces, fresh herbs and salads as accompaniments Anh and Van hope to convey the charm and lightness of Vietnamese cuisine even with a fried-only menu.
The newest young&foodish dining series, FryFriday comes after BurgerMonday, PizzaTuesday, SpagWednesday and WichThursday and right before CoffeeSaturday.
What do you eat at a FryFriday? Almost anything that can be submerged in a hot fat and then elicit cries of “wow!” from the peanut oil gallery.
The Banhmi11 FryFriday pop-up will consist of 5 overlapping sittings beginning at 6:45pm, 7:15pm, 7:45pm, 8:15pm and 8:45pm. Each sitting will last about 90 minutes.
