What to make of a chocolate bagel?
https://youtu.be/pFNc529k0Ns B Bagel Bakery makes their bagels the old-skool way: hand-rolled, boiled and baked, With locations in Soho, Fulham and Tottenham Court Road, it's my go-to resource in the heart of London for plain, sesame, poppy, onion or everything bagels...
Looks great, P.S would it make your top 5 Salt Beef sandwich list?.
Yes, Paul. In fact it would make my top 3 and maybe top 2. Try it and let me low what you think.
Not been to London for a few years, but I’m there in August and this has got me salivating already! Added to my to do list for the trip!
Those are 10 very good reasons! Thanks for the heads-up about this place, looks amazing.
Hi Dan
Is B&K Salt Beef Bar still your number one?
For another week it is, Paul. I will have a new number one as of September 1st. Stay tuned. What’s your number one?
OMG – Found this place by accident! John offered me a piece of tongue and a piece of salt beef because he’d seen me eye it up on the way past! “It’s better than Selfridges” I said. To which John replied “My grandfather opened the salt beef bar in Selfridges 50 years ago”. I’d already eaten but left with a tray of meat (low carb option) after trying it; I tried not to but eat it all on the tube moments later anyway.
I will return!
Very, very hard to beat the salt beef sandwich at Beigel Bake in Brick Lane, so long as you don’t mind a bit of fat. For me, that’s half the point of a salt beef sandwich, so tragic Selfridges has decided to cut theirs off! But most importantly, Beigel Bake makes the closest loaf I’ve found to a New York rye, and it’s essential to eat salt beef on rye – never a bagel!
